Chapter 31 Blood Bats Exceeding Standards
Chapter 31 Blood Bats Exceeding Standards
"Since we're already here, let's go." Han Su advanced under the radiant light, with Su Ming following behind, keeping a watchful eye on their surroundings.
The cave was very deep, and the entrance behind us gradually disappeared. The only visible area was illuminated by the light. Fortunately, the light covered a wide area, and both sides of the cave were clearly illuminated.
There were traces of a battle between demons on it, which must have been caused by several demons fighting over territory.
As they went deeper, a light miraculously appeared inside. Unlike a radiant glow, this light was a kind of fluorescence, emitted by strange stones around the walls.
"Xiao Qing, cut off a piece and let's see," Su Ming shouted.
Upon receiving the order, Xiaoqing waved her hand, and a wind blade swept across the strange stone without making a sound, silently slashing down. Xiaoqing happily flew back, clutching the stone.
The stone was still glowing, and it felt warm to the touch.
After a while, the light gradually disappeared, and it eventually turned into an ordinary stone.
Han Su then came over and said, "This is a luminous stone, which is not very useful. It can only glow when it is attached to a specific location and absorbs the energy of the earth's veins. Once it loses the energy, it will turn into an ordinary stone permanently and can never turn back into a luminous stone."
"Those blood bats really like the radiance emitted by this stone; you can only see these demonic blood bats where the Radiant Stone is present."
"But you cut off a piece of the Radiant Stone and still didn't see any Blood Bats. It seems that Han Ning and the others are indeed here, and they even killed the Blood Bats here."
Han Su's tone was somewhat serious as she looked around.
Everything around was normal; there was nothing wrong with it.
The two continued to explore further.
At a certain point, deep within the cave, a person opened her eyes. Her clothes were tattered, barely covering her sensitive areas. Her face was pale, and her breathing became somewhat disordered after opening her eyes.
"How many pursuers are coming?" One of the men, who only had one arm left, stood up despite the pain. His face was grave. His arm had been torn off by the ice lock not long ago and had only been simply bandaged. He was not in good condition.
There was also a younger girl among them, who had few injuries and was in much better condition than the other two.
"Two people, one is a mid-level mage, and the other is a summoner mage. The summoner might be an advanced-level mage." Han Ning calculated her side's chances of winning.
The result was somewhat disappointing; they would suffer a complete defeat, but Han Ning still had a backup plan.
He looked ahead, where a creature hung upside down from the cave ceiling, its body covered in blood-red markings.
Blood Bat, but now the Blood Bat has folded its wings and is fast asleep.
This was her doing.
"Wait until they get close and enter the Blood Bat's dream, then let the Blood Bat fight them," said Li Yan, who had lost his hand.
He wasn't idle either; he made preparations in advance, ready to risk his life if necessary to ensure the safety of Han Ning and Bei Wang.
……
Su Ming and Han Su, who came in from outside, immediately saw the blood bat hanging above. However, the blood bat had its eyes tightly closed and was unaware of its surroundings. Just as the two were about to bypass the blood bat and go deeper into the area...
Su Ming suddenly caught a glimpse of the Blood Bat out of the corner of his eye. His eyes were open, and his scarlet eyes were full of ferocity and killing intent.
The Blood Bat moved silently. Just as Su Ming was about to warn it, its figure appeared nearby. Its huge wings spread open, blocking out the surrounding light, and its sharp claws pierced out, pointing directly at Han Su.
Blood Bat seemed to know that Cold Crisp was the one who posed a threat to him, while he completely ignored Su Ming.
He kept his spatial magic in his hand, ready to unleash it at any moment, but the blood bat was too fast. It was so fast that he couldn't react in time before it arrived beside them. By the time he wanted to release the magic, its claws had already pierced out and were about to pierce Han Su's chest.
Ring ring ring...
At the critical moment, Xiaoqing made her move. An invisible wind barrier slightly deflected the claws, and two tornadoes appeared beside the blood bat's wings, attempting to sweep it away.
Unfortunately, the difference in strength was too great, and the Blood Bat couldn't move him at all, only managing to make him lose his balance slightly.
It was this brief shift, coupled with Han Su's reaction, that allowed the claws to pierce her chest, leaving only a small hole in her abdomen.
It's so much better than having your chest pierced.
"Mind Control Barrier".
Su Ming shouted, and an invisible barrier imprisoned the blood bat's wings, preventing him from leaving. However, he had overestimated himself and underestimated the demon at the warrior level.
The blood bat's flapping wings shattered the spatial barrier.
"Ice Lock, Ice Chain"
The blood bat flapped its wings, intending to distance itself from the two people after its attack failed. However, Han Su's magic was faster; two deep valleys split open in the ground, from which chains of ice shot out, instantly binding the blood bat's feet. Then, more ice chains wrapped around the blood bat's body and wings, creating a balance.
The blood bat was unable to break free of the ice lock for a time.
"Xiao Qing, Wind Slash!" His own magic was useless, but Xiao Qing's natural power was different. She could condense the surrounding wind into wind blades with tremendous power, enough to cleave the earth.
More than a dozen wind blades quickly condensed and slashed towards one of the blood bat's wings.
He wanted to cripple one of the blood bat's wings first. The idea was wonderful, but the reality was cruel. The wind blades, powerful enough to split the earth and steel bars, struck the wing with a piercing echo. The damage left by the dozen or so wind blades was almost negligible.
"Damn it! Let's get out of here!" Su Ming's expression changed drastically as he shouted to Han Su.
A dozen wind blades hit him but it was like tickling him. How the hell was he supposed to fight this? Su Ming had never fought against a general-level demon before. Now that he saw it, he understood why the common knowledge among mages was that low-level magic could be used against slave-level demons, mid-level mages could fight against general-level demons, and commander-level demons required high-level mages to deal with them.
Demons are aggregates of great power, unlike humans who are fragile. According to statistics, humans need a team of mages to deal with demons of the highest level.
A team of mages consists of seven people.
"Su Ming, don't go yet! Han Ning and the others must be here. Although we don't know how they evaded the blood bats' detection, they have two mid-level mages. If their location is exposed, the blood bats will definitely kill them first. In this state, even if we run outside, we will still be hunted by the blood bats. Whether we can escape is another matter, but even if we do escape, our pursuit of Han Ning will definitely fail." Han Su tried her best to control the ice lock and restrain the blood bats. She shouted at Su Ming, speaking very quickly.
"Here you go. It will make everyone within a certain range visible. The range isn't large, so be careful when using it."
Han Su's face was a little pale. Her abdomen had been attacked by the blood bat and was still bleeding. Fortunately, the wound was not very big, otherwise she would have fainted by now.
The Blood Bat is very powerful, not just an ordinary general-level demon. It also possesses unparalleled speed and air superiority. If it breaks free, things will definitely get complicated.
Su Ming took a small green bottle, inside which tiny flying creatures, resembling flies, were swaying. His expression was conflicted.
But the thought that basic magic was useless against general-level demons made him even more eager to become an intermediate-level mage. Although he could become an intermediate-level mage by honestly cultivating, that would be too slow. He didn't have time to waste, and being powerless all the time was too painful.
The surrounding area was also brightly lit, providing excellent visibility. The cave was quite large, and this was already the deepest part. There were also the remains of several demons inside, presumably brought back by the blood bats during their hunt.
To the naked eye, there is nothing wrong here, and no one is hiding, but magic can render the naked eye ineffective.
"Xiao Qing!"
Su Ming called out, and Xiao Qing understood what to do without needing any instructions. She floated in the air, gathering her strength.
Su Ming's clothes rustled in the wind, and the wind instantly covered the entire cave.
Su Ming waited. If a wind mage were to cast a spell, they might not be able to detect anything amiss, but Xiao Qing was different; she was a wind spirit.
The wind is a part of her; she can sense it perfectly in places where the wind cannot penetrate.
Seeing the elves outside summoning a fierce wind, Han Ning, hiding in the shadows, knew something was wrong.
Xiaoqing suddenly stopped and pointed to a dark place to her left, where the wind could not penetrate.
"Go... Mind Control - Void Claw".
Su Ming used magic to control the small bottle, then moved it to where Xiao Qing pointed. As the silver light in Su Ming's eyes flashed, the bottle in mid-air was crushed, and the creature inside was instantly released.
They flew towards a place where the wind couldn't penetrate.
