Chapter 284 The Great Guardian Li Ang is Back
If it were an ordinary airship, it would have to land here and take the rugged and dangerous mountain road. Even the gunships inside the tower could only rely on their shields to withstand the thunderstorm and then rush out of the thunderstorm zone before the shields were completely broken.
But at this moment, Li Ang only had to think for a moment, and the floating workshop emitted a steady hum, and the altitude continued to climb, soon reaching more than 7,000 meters.
Looking down from this height, the awe-inspiring thunderstorm clouds seemed to transform into a gray-black velvet carpet rolling beneath their feet. Only the occasional exceptionally tall lightning bolt piercing the clouds served as a reminder of the violent energy contained below.
"Flying high is great!" Li Ang looked down and couldn't help but sigh. The upgrade of the Torch Power brought not only simple destructive power, but also this kind of convenience that made life more convenient.
Half a day later, after easily crossing the formidable Thunder Mountain Range, as the setting sun painted the sky golden red, the iconic Ironforge appeared on the distant horizon—we had arrived.
It was the first time Nelson and Rodney had ever seen a castle carved into the mountainside. They pressed their faces against the window, their eyes wide with amazement, and they kept exclaiming in wonder.
Although Helena and Rudick had been here before, it had taken them fifteen days to reach the place, leaving them physically and mentally exhausted.
This time, however, they arrived easily in just four days, and the feeling of overlooking this magnificent dwarf city was completely different. Their evaluation of Leon and this floating workshop was raised once again.
Immediately, Li Ang controlled the floating workshop to begin a slow descent. Just as they approached the designated flight zone above Ironforge, a loud shout, repeated in both Dwarven and Common, came from below: "Unidentified flying entity, cease descent immediately! State your identity and purpose! Repeat, unidentified flying entity, cease descent immediately!"
Li Ang knew that this was because the core magical fluctuations of his floating workshop had not been recorded in the dwarves' airport identification system.
He then instructed the workshop to hover, and subsequently used the [Gentle Breeze] spell to concentrate his voice, clearly projecting it downwards: "I am Leon Carlson, here to visit Her Majesty Sandramea Maxwell and deliver a targeted tissue regeneration potion."
"Lord Li Ang?" The voice below paused noticeably, then became much more polite.
"Please wait a moment! We need to verify your identity!"
Before long, three magnificent griffins carrying dwarf knights rose from the castle's takeoff platform and quickly approached.
The dwarf knights on the griffins looked at the two-story stone building with walls that floated in the air, their faces filled with astonishment. They had never seen such a unique flying machine before.
Leon opened the workshop's door and temporarily shut down the protective force field that enveloped the entire workshop. Three dwarf knights controlled the griffins and carefully landed on the stone slabs of the workshop's courtyard.
The lead dwarf knight dismounted from the griffin and gave a standard dwarf military salute to Leon, who had emerged: "Greetings, High Guardian. Routine inspection, please excuse me." He then took out a device that shimmered with green light and shone it on Leon.
After glancing at the readings on the instrument, the dwarf knight breathed a sigh of relief and became even more enthusiastic: "Identity confirmed, welcome, High Guardian Leon! His Majesty would be very pleased to know you've returned. We will record and file the frequency band of your flight core so that you can land directly next time you visit."
Li Ang nodded his thanks: "Thank you for your trouble."
Guided by the dwarf knight, Leon controlled the floating workshop and landed smoothly in the designated area of Ironforge's third airport.
The massive airport platform, constructed of heavy steel, houses several large dwarven military airships, making Leon's workshop appear small and unique.
Leaving Nelson and Rodney to wait in the workshop, Leon led Helena and Rudick through the noble district with practiced ease, eventually heading towards the palace area at the top of the mountain.
Before even reaching the palace gates, Li Ang saw a petite figure in fiery red rushing out of the palace from afar, followed by a group of panicked palace guards and etiquette officials trying to dissuade her.
"Li Angqing!"
Sandramea Maxwell, the queen of the dwarf kingdom, charged straight at Leon like a cannonball, her short legs giving her astonishing speed.
Li Ang only had time to manage a smile before Mei Ya bumped into him squarely. Her arms wrapped tightly around his hips, her face buried in his chest, her voice muffled but full of joy: "Li Ang, it's been so long! I missed you so much!"
"Ugh!" Li Ang groaned, feeling his bones cracking. It seemed that Maya's grip had tightened considerably.
"Your Majesty—" Li Ang endured the pain and, with a wry smile, gently patted Maya's shoulder, which was trembling slightly with excitement.
"Be gentle, it's going to break—"
Upon hearing this, Maya released her grip, tilting her rosy cheeks up to her bright, emerald-green eyes. She grabbed Li Ang's hand and pulled him into the palace, saying, "Come in, come in! By the way, why did you suddenly come? I was planning to finish things here in a few days and then go back to Lelita to find you!"
She was still incredibly strong, and Li Ang was practically being dragged along. The officials behind her watched as their queen so disregarded decorum, pulling a human man straight into the inner palace. Their brows twitched repeatedly, but considering Li Ang's status as the "Great Guardian" bestowed by the three Titans, and the queen's absolute trust in him, no one dared to step forward and say anything.
Instead of taking Li Ang and the others to the formal reception hall, Maya led them directly to her private room.
"Everyone, please sit down, don't be shy!" Maya jumped onto a high-backed chair first, swinging her legs, and asked impatiently, "By the way, Li Angqing, where's Olivia? Didn't she come with you?" She looked around and then realized that the reliable dragon girl was missing from the group.
When Olivia was mentioned, Leon's smile faded. He gestured for Helena to close the door, and then calmly began to recount the events of the past month, as well as the news he learned upon returning to Lelita about the death of the Gorman faction leader, the arrival of the Holy Mountain messenger, and the forced abduction of Professor Dinah and Olivia.
"What?!" Maya jumped off her chair, her pink hair practically standing on end. She clenched her small fists, her emerald green eyes blazing with fury: "Those winged lizards! How dare they force Olivia? I'll send troops right now and take Olivia back!"
She was about to rush out as she spoke, looking as if she was about to launch a national war.
