Chapter 21 I need to talk to Losanda!
Chapter 21 I need to talk to Losanda!
"Lossanda, what's wrong with Pastor Richard?!"
Sister Sharon's voice trembled slightly with panic.
Seeing Richard's weak appearance, her eyes immediately welled up with tears, and she rushed to Chloe's side.
A healing light emanated from her hands as she attempted to restore Richard's health.
"Don't worry, Lord Richard has simply fallen into a deep sleep."
Chloe kept her voice as calm as possible, so as not to wake Richard, who was sleeping soundly on her back.
Where is his bedroom?
Sharon raised her hand to wipe her red and swollen eyes. Her professional demeanor as a nun allowed her to quickly regain her composure, though her voice was still slightly choked with emotion.
"Come with me."
The room on the second floor, behind the writing room.
This is Richard's residence in the Black Rock Church, so simple it's almost shabby.
An old oak bed, a pine wardrobe leaning against the wall, and a set of creaky, aged table and chairs—that's all.
After placing Richard on the bed, Crowe noticed Sharon was by his side and decided to let him rest.
"Aivel, let's go."
Master Zhuoer did not respond. He stayed with Sharon by Richard's bedside, showing no intention of leaving.
Kro paused for a moment, then finally said helplessly.
"Maurice and I went to the blacksmith first to ask Gronn to repair the Prison Oath Tracker."
The chief of guards saw the two leave, glanced at the situation inside the room, and then quietly left the room as well.
He still needs to direct the repair work on the wall.
With the goblin tribe now eyeing them covetously and Pastor Richard wounded, Blackrock Town's defenses cannot be relaxed for a moment.
The wooden door was gently closed.
The room fell silent.
The only sounds were Richard's faint breathing and the occasional chirping of birds outside the window.
Sharon sat down on the chair by the bed, clasped her hands on her knees, and stared intently at Richard's face with her deep blue eyes.
Avel stood at the foot of the bed, still in the same position, silently standing to the side.
I don't know how much time passed.
Sharon suddenly spoke, her voice very soft, yet it broke the silence of the room.
"You should go back now."
Avel did not turn his head, but simply responded indifferently.
"I want to see Lord Richard wake up."
Sharon's delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly as she finally shifted her gaze from Richard's face and turned to look Avel up and down.
Then, she said something.
A single sentence that froze Avel in place.
"What, you don't need to keep up the drow elf persona anymore?"
"The esteemed young lady of the Anvenska family!"
Avel turned his head sharply!
His crimson pupils suddenly contracted, and for the first time, an undisguised shock appeared on his purplish-red face.
Lord Richard guessed that he was disguised by recognizing details, but the fact that this nun, whom he had only met once, could accurately state his identity was clearly beyond his comprehension.
"You knew from the beginning?"
Sharon's lips curled into an almost mocking smile.
"Your clumsy disguise cannot conceal the arcane aura flowing in your blood."
Avel began to explain.
"My disguise was not intended to harm Lord Richard..."
Sharon's face was cold and aloof, a stark contrast to her weak demeanor in front of Richard, as she coldly interrupted.
Your opinion doesn't matter!
"Those who get involved with the Anvenska family never end well. I don't need to remind you of that, do I?"
Avel frowned, unable to help but show a hint of displeasure as Sharon pressed him relentlessly.
"And what about you?"
"A person with extraordinary perception and vast knowledge, favored by God, actually went to a remote rural area and willingly became an ordinary nun?"
Sharon didn't want to discuss her own affairs with her.
"It's none of your business."
"Fix your things and keep chasing that Campion. Stop bothering Pastor Richard!"
Hearing Sharon's almost commanding tone, Avel narrowed his eyes slightly.
"I'm sorry, Blackrock Town needs our help right now."
"Unlike some ill-intentioned people who would rather watch the villagers suffer at the hands of goblins than lend a helping hand."
Sharon sensed the sarcasm in Avel's voice, and her eyes immediately sharpened.
If their conversation just now was merely a preliminary test, then Aiver's words were undoubtedly the beginning of a declaration of war!
The strong smell of gunpowder silently filled the room.
"Cough cough..."
Just then.
A weak cough broke the suffocating silence.
"Sir Richard, you're awake!!"
Hearing the commotion, the two forgot about their argument and rushed to the bedside, gazing at the slightly weak but still strong face.
Richard lay on the bed and slowly opened his eyes.
Looking at the familiar room layout, and seeing Sister Sharon in front of him, clutching the bedsheets tightly and looking at him with a worried expression.
"You're finally awake! The way they carried you back terrified me!"
Richard's voice still sounded weak.
"Have all the children been sent back? Where are Chloe and the others?"
When Avery saw Richard wake up, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"Don't worry, Pastor Richard, the child is home safely."
"Kro and the other guy went to the blacksmith to repair the tracker."
Richard coughed twice, his throat feeling dry.
Sharon, who had lived with Richard for a long time and was still quite perceptive, immediately handed him a water glass and presented it to him.
Richard cleared his throat and then suddenly asked.
"I think I just heard someone arguing, what happened?"
Sharon and Avery exchanged a glance, and the two tacitly remained silent.
"It's nothing, you must have misheard me."
"Yeah?"
Richard didn't ask any further questions. Recalling the current situation in Blackrock Town, his expression gradually became serious.
"Sharon, could you please summon Chief of Staff Weiss? I have something to discuss with him!"
Sharon nodded, glanced silently at Avel, and then turned and walked out of the room.
Richard also got up, wanting to get out of bed, but was stopped by Avel.
"Your Excellency Richard, you need to rest."
Richard shook his head.
"Those visitors from the Underdark won't give me that time."
"I'm going to talk to Losanda!"
When Sharon brought Chief Justice Wies back to the church, she saw Avel standing at the corner of the corridor, gazing intently into the hall.
"What are you doing?"
Avel raised his chin and lowered his voice.
"His Excellency Richard is praying to the Lord of Dawn."
Beneath the statue of Los Santo.
Richard had been praying for a long time, but had yet to receive a response from Losanda.
The legend says that Lossandra was extremely protective of his followers, and even sent Seraphim to earth to help them through calamities.
I don't ask you to send down a Celestial Envoy, but even just a powerful divine spell would be enough to help me get through this crisis safely.
Richard even began to wonder if his perception was insufficient, which was why he hadn't received Lossanda's message.
After repeated unsuccessful prayers, Richard frowned and decided to try a slightly offensive approach.
"The priests of Tempas, the God of War, have found me; they want me to transfer to the Temple of War!"
There has still been no response.
"Last night, the goddess Shuni personally conveyed her message to me, opening her arms to me!"
The statue remained silent.
in the corner.
Sharon and Avery watched Richard talking to himself, their faces filled with worry.
"Do you think Lord Richard's injuries haven't fully healed yet?"
Sharon, unusually, didn't argue with Avery.
"It seems that Father Richard really needs to rest."
