Why has this come to me now, when I could not have it before?
But why are you in this place?
The scene was the royal hotel where he was currently staying. A young man dressed in simple clothes, whose appearance was seven-tenths similar to his own, slowly walked out of the room in the corridor.
His clothes were not fancy; he looked like an ordinary Vaishya youth.
Without a doubt, these were his ancestors.
The ancestor wandered around the courtyard for a while, then his gaze suddenly sharpened, and he froze.
Not far away, a woman stood quietly under a flowering tree.
Her beauty was beyond words; it was ethereal and pure, breathtakingly beautiful, and one glance was enough to make one completely fall for her.
Even Vijay, a man of great experience, was momentarily stunned by it.
Not to mention his ancestors!
The ancestor stood there, stunned, his gaze fixed on the woman.
The screen started flickering rapidly.
The inn's corridors, the countryside outside the city, the secluded forests, the clear waterside...
They strolled and laughed together, their ancestors always following behind her; even a fool could see the depth of their affection.
The woman led her ancestors to the foot of a towering mountain.
Only then did the woman reveal her true supernatural abilities.
Black birds and colorful swallows flew in from all directions, circling and dancing around her.
The woman's body slowly rose into the air, her clothes fluttering, like a true deity ascending to heaven.
The ancestor was reluctant to let her go, and like a madman, he climbed the steep mountain peak with his bare hands, disregarding the sheer cliffs and the rushing water. He touched the wet rocks with his toes, gripped the cracks in the rocks with his hands, and let the waterfall wash over his whole body, still climbing upwards regardless of everything.
The ancestor grabbed onto a dead tree growing horizontally in mid-air, leaped across a bottomless canyon, and weaved through the cascading waterfall. Despite the pebbles scraping his skin and the torrents crashing against his chest, the only thing in his eyes was this woman.
Finally, after climbing for an unknown amount of time and failing countless times, he finally approached the woman, just as his ancestor's fingertips were about to touch her sleeve.
The screen suddenly shattered.
"Well……"
Vijay woke up with a start, a fine layer of cold sweat beading on his forehead.
He sat up and looked out the window. The sun was already setting in the west, and the sky was tinged with orange-red. He realized that he had slept for the entire afternoon.
However, the "ancestral adventure" in his dream made him sleep very restlessly.
What the hell is going on? It's completely nonsensical!
What does this have to do with the trade routes I want to see?
He touched his chest, carefully recalling the scene that had just occurred.
That young man must be his great-grandfather.
Could that stunningly beautiful woman be the source of the Mittal family's inexplicable divine favor, which even Brahmin priests crave?
A one-night stand with a deity?
Unable to figure it out, Vijay shook his head and stopped thinking about it.
After sleeping for so long, it's time to get up and move around.
"Bim!" Vijay called out casually.
"Master, your old servant is here!" Bim's respectful reply came immediately from outside the door.
This loyal old servant was indeed always by his side, as reliable as ever.
Vijay got up, straightened his clothes, and pushed open the door. "Let's go, let's go for a walk!"
The sun was already setting, but the Royal Hotel had an excellent location, right near Corona Square. The two of them slowly walked out of the hotel, and as soon as they reached the edge of the square, they were completely enveloped by the lively scene before them.
Corona Square was bustling with noise and packed with people.
The afterglow of the setting sun spilled onto the golden glazed roof of the Temple of the Sun, reflecting a large expanse of warm and soft golden light that cascaded across the square, dispelling the evening chill and making everyone feel warm and comfortable.
The square was lined with stalls, displaying a dazzling array of goods.
Vijay strolled around casually, his eyes scanning the goods on the stalls. The specialties they brought from Harappa City could also be found here, though they weren't exactly rare items, and the prices were surprisingly high!
That means even if Vijay just resells the goods he brought here, he can immediately make a lot of money!
However, that would only get you some useless gold coins, which seems like a bad deal.
Just as Vijay was strolling leisurely, a commotion suddenly broke out ahead.
The crowd quickly gathered, and shouts, curses, and insults erupted one after another.
"Hey, this is going to be interesting." Vijay's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately took Bim and gently pushed through the crowd to the front.
The moment Vijay saw what was happening inside, his face darkened instantly.
Surrounded by the crowd were two members of their own caravan!
One was Shudrakandhan, who was fluent in animal language, and the other seemed to be a key figure who was also well-versed in herbs.
Opposite them, atop a magnificent palanquin carried by four Shudra servants, sat a thin, arrogant young man.
Judging from his clothing, accessories, ceremonial guards, and the golden armor of his bodyguards, he was clearly a noble Kshatriya nobleman of local origin.
At this moment, the Kshatriya, his face contorted with rage, looked down at the two trembling caravan members on the ground, shouting arrogantly and viciously, "You audacious lowly people! How dare you trample on the shadow of my royal family, protected by Shiva, the noble son of the Kshatriya! Even if I leave ten of your lives here, it would not be enough to atone for the humiliation I have suffered!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he turned sharply and barked an order at the guards in golden armor beside him: "What are you all standing there for? Kill these two audacious commoners!"
"yes!"
The guards readily obeyed and drew their Kanda swords from their waists.
The two caravan members were terrified, their faces pale and their bodies trembling. They knelt on the ground, kowtowing and begging for mercy, but they couldn't utter a single word.
Vijay listened to the Kshatriya's words and pieced together the whole story from the chatter of the onlookers.
Just because I accidentally stepped on the shadow of this Kshatriya, I'm going to be killed?
Although there is such a saying, they are Shudras, their crimes don't warrant this!
Vijay's gaze then fell upon the Kshatriya and his guards.
They would travel during busy times, and with only a few guards, or even just two samurai accompanying them...
Could he be some scrap of a Kshatriya?
This could be an opportunity?
"Stop!" Vijay leaped out of the crowd and shouted sharply.
The sword actually stopped. The guards seemed confused by this sudden appearance and hesitated for a moment.
Vijay seized the opportunity to quickly walk onto the field and stand in front of the two players.
"Brahma above, esteemed Kshatriya, please calm your anger!"
"We are a caravan from Harappa, commissioned by the Brahmin and Kshatriya of Harappa. These two are just ordinary members of our caravan. They unintentionally offended your dignity. We hope you will be lenient."
As he spoke, Vijay immediately pulled a heavy money bag from his pocket, held it respectfully above his head with both hands, and said, "Please, sir, spare their lives!"
Vijay spoke in a very low-key and humble manner, both invoking the Kshatriya of Harappa as his backer and offering him enough gold coins, thus giving the Kshatriya face and a way out.
He thought that in doing so, the other party would surely take the gold coins and let the two team members go.
To everyone's surprise, the Kshatriya merely glanced indifferently at the money pouch in Vijay's hand, his face showing no emotion whatsoever, but instead revealing an even more disdainful and angry expression.
He casually tossed the golden fruit platter beside him, sweeping the money bag from Vijay's hand to the ground.
Gold coins rolled all over the ground, jingling loudly.
"presumptuous!"
