Chapter 389 Ghost of Christmas Past
Chapter 389 Ghost of Christmas Past
There wasn't a lot of blood so people didn't make a big commotion. Some swore that the great Gilbert Blakeson fell all on his own. There were already phones out, taking pictures and videos of the embarrassing moment.
It was truly something that caused Gilbert to snap. Not only his son suffered because of the man's son, him too and now the boys father was doing the same. It was a very bitter truth to swallow.
Trent ran to his master's side. He saw everything that happened, mostly because he was already keeping an eye on him. The Blakeson Butler saw just how fast the fist connected with the jaw and he was helpess, he felt like a useless old man.
"Master, are you alright?" The concern in his voice was evident, he could see the danger that was in his master's eye so he held him by the arm.
Gilbert however didn't hear that, he couldn't. His focus was on the man nonchalantly sitting in front of him, his back turned — nothing else existed.
It was too much to process, that this was the same man who would licked his behind every chance he got back when he was still his employee.
The same man he bullied and stole from. That same man was unrecognisable in the eyes of Gilbert. The change was abrupt therefore unexpected and foreign.
Gilbert was born into old money, he didn't understand the thought process of those he deemed below him. He only understood that the rich people's greed made those negatively affected great followers.
Unbeknown to him it made them great pretenders too. People who would do just about anything to feed their families—breaking or bending their moral standards. It was all about survival to them.
That was life in the slums, life Sekani was working tirelessly to change. Another thing he was taking from the rich, it made Gilbert see red with rage.
He was this close to making Sanctauri his own kingdom. And some slum rat came and destroyed that, anyone would be understandably angry.
"Master, people are watching. Please compose yourself." Trent told him in a whisper.
The fact that people were watching and they were being recorded brought him back to his senses. He closed his eyes and managed quick breaths to calm his anger. Definitely harder to quell his anger in public, he was used to throwing things around.
"Would expect nothing less from animals." He mumbled walking away and towards the door, Gilbert knew very well that he couldn't defeat the man even if he tried.
The fact that he was very drunk didn't exactly tip the odds in his favour. Sekani Waynworth had a deadly bodyguard with him and he didn't seem to be helpess either.
'What's he doing here anyway? Shouldn't he be 6 feet under Sanctauri? I suppose his nickname 'Shadow' suits him.' Trent couldn't get him out of his mind.
Inside the restaurant, Freya had to collect her jaw on the floor. She always thought that there were no secrets between them, but she didn't know about this one thing about her own husband.
"It's not something I'm proud of." Sekani explained before the questions started. "I didn't mean to keep it from you."
It was true, training under his father strained their father and son relationship. So much that Sekani grew to despise the skill he was taught.
"Could've at least told me about it!" Her face was unreadable.
"Yeah, I'm sorry. Are you angry with me?"
"Angry with you? I don't understand it either, I absolutely do not condone violence but that right there made you more attractive somehow."
She blushed, "I didn't know you could get anymore attractive."
Sekani held back a laugh, he took her hand and kissed it. "Thank you for choosing me."
"In every lifetime."
The time away from their family was not interrupted again, the rest of the evening was great. They vowed to do something like this at least once a month.
