Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 633 Buying more

Chapter 633 Buying more

On that day, the group prepared to split up again. While they managed to spare two large groups of warriors that were in the capital and with Rain's father, the group didn't feel that victorious. That battle had been more difficult than all the others and it showed that the others would be like that.

"Training daily will make us stronger, but we need more..." Rain thought. "I will have to devise a new training regimen where the warriors will focus on improving skills and paths that will increase their health, mana, and stamina."

That was easier said than done... leveling up paths was more efficient, and their bonuses were that good, but focusing on some skills and equip them when one wanted to become too tougher would increase their chances of surviving.

The Gluttonous Recovery was useful, but it was more useful when the users had time to recover outside battle... that was why Rain also felt like he had to think of other ways to increase their health, mana, and stamina.

"I guess the answer lies in the techniques of the dragons..." Rain said. "It is annoying that I have to use that instead of coming up with my own ideas."

Although Rain's pride made sense, he was also aware that it would be hard to come up with techniques that would be better than the ones that the dragons used, they were thousands of years old, after all. Learning what already existed was easier than creating new things as well.

"We are going now," Rain said. "You can use our troops as you see fit. My guess is that the enemies will keep causing problems on the border without causing big battles, so keep your guard up."

"All right," Liss said.

"You could at least help us organize and think how things should work here," Asche said and then sighed.

"I can easily see that you are outsourcing all troublesome things for your underlings..." Terra said while furrowing her eyebrows. "You should be more conscious of your position as a leader of thousands of warriors."

Secondly, the enemy possibly was someone whom Rain knew. This familiarity meant that Rain would be more likely to recognize their tactics, anticipate their moves, and potentially exploit their weaknesses. It was much riskier for them to engage Rain directly than to operate covertly and from a distance.

Thirdly, Rain's keen strategic mind posed a serious threat to the enemy. If he got a good read on their tactics, he could counter their plans effectively. They understood that being too conspicuous or predictable would only make them vulnerable to Rain's strategic cunning.

Considering these factors, the enemy was cautious not to draw Rain's attention, opting for subtler approaches to achieve their goals without directly confronting him.

"You don't have an army with you now, right?" Branden asked. "Are you going to recruit a new group?"

"We will need that, but I will leave that on the hands of the others," Rain shook his head. "I have a bunch of things that I want to test and it will be difficult to focus on that if I have to look after so many people again."

Usually, that would make things difficult for Rain since he and his wives would jace to defend the entire southern coast by themselves, but it seemed that the enemies won't use the ocean for a while since it would be too obvious and the monsters would be easy to spot.

"I see, tell us if you need something," Branden said.

"You can send half of the production of spiritual potions to my place, that should suffice," Rain said. "You can take the money from my vault."

Branden and Esmeralda couldn't help but frown at the idea of Rain needing even more potions. He had already expended a substantial amount of potions during their battles, and thanks to his business ventures, he had accumulated a significant fortune and invested on them as well.

It seemed perplexing to them why he would require more potions unless he intended to stop drinking water and switch to consuming potions exclusively. The prospect of such an extravagant approach left them speechless.
