#1409 - Guanyin: You can stop it, but it’s not necessary

Pigsy and Sandy both remembered what Chu Hao had said before, that the next tribulation would be very closely related to them. Therefore, Pigsy and Sandy both wanted to get through it as soon as possible.

If they could choose, they would just want to live a happy and ordinary life.

But their everything was shattered by a single thought of Lao Tzu and the Western Heavens. Under the guise of fulfilling a destiny, they disregarded their pleas, deprived them of their happy lives, and made them live a life worse than death.

They even praised themselves as benevolent, thinking that Pigsy and Sandy didn't know how to be grateful for giving them so much pain…

If they hadn't met Chu Hao, Pigsy and Sandy would still be just dogs in the Journey to the West, driven by others and without any dignity.

Pigsy and Sandy could both see that this old turtle was actually a minor demon arranged by the Western Heavens.

But not today. They were in a hurry to get Tang Sanzang across the river, and they themselves wanted to encounter the next tribulation demon as soon as possible.

Tang Sanzang went ashore, put his hands together, and thanked him, "Old turtle, thank you for your hard work. I have nothing to give you. I will repay you when I return from retrieving the scriptures."

This monk sitting on his back was constantly studying how to catch him and stew him into a soup.

The old turtle was able to survive entirely because of the kindness of Pigsy and Sandy.

Logically speaking, the old turtle should have run away at this point.

But he couldn't. He had a mission to fulfill.

The Tathagata Buddha had instructed him that he must bury the cause of future tribulations here.

The old turtle swallowed and said:

"I don't need the master's thanks. I have heard that the Buddha of the Western Heavens has neither birth nor death and can know the past and the future. I have been cultivating here for more than 1,300 years. Although I have extended my life and am light, and can speak human language, it is difficult to shed my shell.

I hope that the master will go to the Western Heavens and ask the Buddha for me, to see when I can shed my shell and obtain a human body."

However, after the old turtle finished speaking, he found that the atmosphere seemed to freeze.

The old turtle was stunned, looked up, and found that there was a hint of indifference on Tang Sanzang's face.

"Tathagata? Am I familiar with him?" Tang Sanzang said coldly.

Old Turtle: "…"

The old turtle was a little frantic:

"Master, you are Tang Sanzang, you are Tang Sanzang who is going to the Western Heavens to worship Buddha and seek scriptures, who are you familiar with if not him!"

Sun Wukong laughed mockingly,

There must be someone familiar with him, and that is this old turtle who harbors evil intentions, works as a dog for the Western Heavens, and leaves behind tribulations for himself!

Tang Sanzang punched the old turtle to death, and the three Sun Wukong brothers seemed to have foreseen it, and each of them was indifferent.

Pigsy also said very experiencedly:

"Turtle soup nourishes the kidneys, Master, let's take the most essential piece and eat it, and keep the rest as jerky for the road."

Tang Sanzang nodded,

"Very good, very good."

So the four masters and disciples began to drink soup and eat meat swaggeringly by the Tongtian River, which was very pleasant.

Why did Guanyin Bodhisattva ignore it?

Guanyin Bodhisattva actually wanted to stop it, after all, the Prison God was not here at the moment, and she had the ability to stop it.

However, Guanyin Bodhisattva chose to remain silent.

She could stop it, but there was no need.

She always felt that Chu Hao was going to do something big this time.

And every time Chu Hao did something big, it meant that something big would happen to the Western Heavens.

In the precarious Western Heavens, they would probably have difficulty freeing up manpower to send strong men to monitor the Journey to the West.

So now it was Guanyin Bodhisattva, a small rookie, confronting a terrifying existence like Chu Hao. Guanyin Bodhisattva wisely chose to turn a blind eye.
